If you’ve walked past our studio in Enfield and seen people bouncing in what looks like futuristic ski boots, you’ve witnessed the high-energy world of Kangoo Jumps.
At Unite in Fitness, we pride ourselves on offering classes that aren’t just effective, but genuinely fun. If your treadmill routine has become a chore, or your joints are starting to protest against the pavement, it might be time to try “rebounding.”
Here are five reasons why you should swap your trainers for Kangoo boots this week.
1. 80% Less Impact on Your Joints
Standard running or aerobic exercise can be tough on the ankles, knees, and hips. Kangoo Jumps use a patented Impact Protection System (IPS). The spring-loaded boots absorb up to 80% of the vertical impact. This makes it an ideal choice for anyone looking for low-impact fitness options that don’t sacrifice intensity.
2. Explosive Calorie Burn (The NASA Secret)
Did you know that NASA research suggests rebounding is one of the most efficient forms of exercise ever created? According to a study published by NASA scientists, trampoline-style exercise can be up to 68% more efficient than jogging. Because you are fighting gravity with every bounce, you can burn significantly more calories in a 45-minute session than you would on a standard run.
3. The Ultimate Lymphatic Detox
Unlike many forms of exercise, the “G-force” created by bouncing specifically stimulates the lymphatic system. According to health experts at Healthline, this vertical movement helps your body flush out toxins and boosts immune function. It’s a full-body “internal massage” that you just can’t get from a stationary bike or a Barbell Pump class.
4. A Secret Core Workout
To stay balanced on the boots, your stabilizer muscles have to work overtime. You’ll be strengthening your abdominals, lower back, and pelvic floor without ever having to do a single sit-up. If you love the core-burn of our Hot Pilates sessions, you’ll be amazed at how much Kangoo Jumps complements that strength.
5. You Can’t Wipe the Smile Off Your Face
There is a psychological “rebound” too. Bouncing is inherently joyful and releases a flood of endorphins. It’s the ultimate “vibe” to shake off a stressful workday – much like the high-energy atmosphere in our Zumba and Desi Vibe classes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Do I need to buy my own Kangoo Jumps boots?
A: No! At Unite in Fitness, we provide the specialized rebound boots for all our members. We have a range of sizes available, but because they are popular, we recommend booking your class in advance to ensure we have your size ready.
Q: What should I wear to a Kangoo Jumps class?
A: The most important thing is a pair of long, thick socks (sports socks are perfect). This prevents the boots from rubbing against your skin. For clothing, standard gym leggings or shorts and a supportive sports bra are recommended.
Q: Is there a weight limit for the boots?
A: Kangoo Jumps boots are designed to be extremely sturdy. Most standard boots support up to 100kg (approx. 15 stone). However, we do have different tension springs available, so if you have any concerns, please contact our team and we can advise you on the best setup.
Q: Is it hard to balance on the boots?
A: It’s much easier than it looks! Most people feel comfortable and balanced within the first 5 to 10 minutes of their first session. The wide sole of the boot provides a stable base, and our instructors will guide you through the basic moves to find your “rebound legs” quickly.
Q: Can I do this if I have “bad knees”?
A: Actually, many people choose Kangoo Jumps because they have knee issues. Because the IPS (Impact Protection System) absorbs up to 80% of the shock that would normally hit your joints on a hard floor, it is often much more comfortable than traditional aerobics or running.
Q: How many calories will I burn in one class?
A: While it varies depending on intensity, an average 45-minute Kangoo Jumps session can burn between 500 and 800 calories. It is one of the most efficient fat-burning classes we offer on our current timetable.
